History & Facts
Zoisite with Ruby is also known as Anyolite and is a stone that consists of two minerals; red Ruby (Corundum) and Zoisite, hence the name. It has a beautiful appearance with fine colors in red and green shades.
It was first discovered in 1949 in Tanzania by the Englishman Tom Belvins in the Longido mining district. Smaller finds have also been made in other places but Tanzania is still the place where the stone is mainly mined. Since the first discovery, the stone has been used for its economic value in barter trade, but also by Shamans in rituals for protection.
