This pendant on string is also called "nazar boncuğu". A nazar is an amulet in the form of an eye which, according to Turkish folk tradition, is supposed to protect against the evil eye. The small versions are worn as jewelry and the large ones are hung on the wall (preferably opposite an entrance or a door) to act as a clear antidote to "evil".
The blue evil eye, Nazar Boncugu is very well known in Turkey. This is the pendant of the eye of Horus, the evil eye. It is believed that the black eye absorbs all the bad energy from the evil eye or even sends it back to the person who wanted to do this misfortune. So it protects you from evil
