Stellerite is a very rare and sought-after stone named after the German explorer Georg Wilhelm Steller who first found the crystal on the Komandorski Islands in Russia during the 18th century. The crystal is found at volcanoes in rock crevices, cavities in the ground and has several locations, it can be found in isolated places in e.g. Asia, Australia, the USA and parts of Europe such as in the north.
