Lazurite

Lazurite is a stone that consists of minerals such as Calcite, Pyrite and Olivine, and can also contain lead and copper. The stone has a natural blue tone that arose from contact with sulfur such as the fumes from a volcanic eruption. This stone is reminiscent of Lapis Lazuli, which is not surprising since Lapis Lazuli consists largely of Lazurite, but can be easily distinguished on closer inspection.
Lazurite was discovered in the 1890s in Afghanistan but has several localities and can be found in several parts of the world. Although it is not rare, it is partly rare to find on the market. Lazurite is characterized in terms of appearance by its clear blue color which was formerly used to produce the color pigment ultramarine which was used in e.g. painting and fabric dyeing, which it partly still does.
This stone carries calming energies that can help with stress, anxiety and acts on the throat and third eye chakra.
