Lotus flower incense is used for spiritual upliftment, meditation and prayer. For Buddhism, it symbolizes enlightenment because it rises from the mud and blooms clean, fragrant and magnificent above the water. In China it is associated with marriage and love.
The lotus represents something supernatural and enlightening to Eastern cultures, which is why the flower is often seen alongside divine figures. In Buddhist and Egyptian culture, the flower represented the universe. In Hindu culture, gods and goddesses are said to have sat on lotus thrones. And, according to Buddhist myth, the Buddha appeared on top of a floating lotus, and his first steps on earth left lotus flowers.
