Covellin, also called Covellite or copper indigo, is a beautiful stone with darker tones of blue, black and with elements of gold and red. It can also contain parts of the matrix that also give the stone elements of whiter parts.
Although Covellin is a very unique and rare stone on the market, it can be found in smaller quantities in several places around the world. Its rarity gives it a higher value on the market and makes it highly sought after among collectors. It was discovered by the Italian mineralogist Niccolo Covelli, after whom the stone is also named.
