Afghanite is a stone that vibrates at a high frequency that many can experience directly upon touch. History & Facts
Afghanite can vary greatly in appearance but often has a blue tone that can vary from light sky blue to darker navy blue, but can also be colorless and almost transparent.
The stone was first discovered in 1968 by R.Giraud, F.Cesbron and P.Bariand. It was named after the country where it was first found, Afghanistan. It can be traced to the Badakhshan region, in the northeastern part of the country, and occurs near Sodalite minerals, such as Hackmanite and Lazurite. Chemically, it is very similar to Lazurite, as it gets its blue color from the same elements and components.
