Nundorit can be referred to with several different spellings such as Nundoorit and Nunderit, and is named after its place of discovery, Nundora Station in the city in western New South Wales, Australia. Its first documented discovery was made in the 1960s and shortly thereafter the stone was no longer considered to be found there as all finds were already thought to have been found. The stone can instead be found in other places such as New England (in Australia) and in places nearby but in smaller quantities and which makes the stone a rarity. With its rarity and the limited quantity found, this stone has a high value on the market and is in demand among experienced collectors.
Nundorite is an extremely rare crystal that can often be identified by its beautiful unique appearance with an earthy color in the base and spot-shaped patterns in green tones. The pattern and colors have arisen with the natural mineral composition of Aegirine and Orthoclase.
