History & Facts

Ussingite is an extremely rare and unique stone that has a documented history that stretches back to the beginning of the 20th century. The first documented discovery was made in Greenland and the stone was then named after the Danish geologist Niels Viggo Ussing who studied the geology of Greenland for a long time in the area where the stone was found shortly after his death.

The stone occurs in purple/pink, violet or white tones and has only been found in small quantities. As a result, the stone has a high value on the market and is extremely sought after among experienced collectors and geologists.
