Green Aventurine is a crystal that belongs to the Aventurine family and basically consists of silica and quartz. The green color arises naturally from chrome glitter in silicic acid that is enclosed by crystals during growth. Aventurine gets its name from the Italian word a ventura which translates to "by chance". The name was given in connection with the search for another substance when the crystal was encountered.
Green Aventurine has several localities and can be found worldwide, but the largest mines with this crystal are in Brazil and India.
