Bronzite is a fine stone with a fantastic shine in itself which comes from chatoyancy, also known colloquially as "cat's eye" or the "cat's eye effect". The stone has several spellings and is sometimes spelled Bronzite. The name comes from the Italian "bronzare" which translates to "to bronze", and is based on the appearance of the stone with a shimmer that can resemble metal/bronze.
Bronzite is a stone that has existed for several millennia and is one of the oldest stones known to us humans. It was discovered with meteorites, which makes it difficult to age.
This stone has been used throughout the ages both for protection and also for its physical and psychological soothing properties it is said to carry.
