Atlantisite is also called "Stichtite in Serpentine" and is named after the sunken city of Atlantis. The crystal was named in the 20th century by Gerald Pauley who thought he was reminded of and felt that of the lost city when he held the stone. Namely, Atlantisite is said to have existed in that Atlantis and consists of a combination of green Serpentine and pink/purple Stichtite. This stone often has a green base with purple dot-like spots, but the appearance can vary in both patterns and tones, making each stone very unique.
Atlantisite is only found in Tasmania Australia and is considered a rare crystal. At the find site, mostly Stichtite is found as its own stone, but also this fantastic Atlantisite where Stichtite has grown together with Serpentine and formed this fine crystal.
