History & Facts
Angelite is a beautiful blue stone that is also called Anhydrite or "angel stone" and is named after the Greek word "anhydras" which means "without water". This stone was first discovered in 1987 in Peru, but can now be found in several places such as e.g. Great Britain, Poland, Libya, Germany, Mexico and Egypt.
Angelite contains calcium sulfate and is formed in places where gypsum stones have previously come into contact with water. When the water then evaporates, Anhydrot crystals are left behind. Angelite is a fragile stone that can easily be scratched and broken if handled carelessly and should be stored dry.
*Stones are a natural material and can therefore vary in shape, shade and clarity. Natural cracks and irregularities may also occur. Please note that the photo is a product pictuor and that the stones vary.
